By the Roadside – Sept 2023

I often wonder how I’ll manage to keep making photographs given I have a young family and a long commute to the office every day.

That commute is boring as hell, or at least that’s what I tell myself. Often I’ll say “there’s no point taking the camera there’s nothing to photography”. But then I realise something, Ireland is steeped in a rich heritage and around the next bend could be a field that contains a gateway to the land of The Tuatha Dé Danann, the Faerie. Megalithic passage tombs like Newgrange, Knowth and Loughcrew; historic meeting placed of the High Kings at Tara or simply the ruin of a castle in Moylagh.

The point really is to open your eyes, enjoy your community, your journey. see the world with fresh eyes.
