Alan Laighléis is a highly experienced IT Project Manager with over 15 years in senior IT roles, combining strong technical expertise with a proven record of delivering complex infrastructure and digital transformation projects. Degree-qualified in Business and Information Technology (Trinity College Dublin), Alan holds multiple project management and technical certifications, including PRINCE2 PractitionerProfessional Scrum MasterProfessional Scrum Product Owner, and PMI CAPM, alongside extensive Microsoft and networking credentials.

With a career spanning banking, financial services, insurance, legal, retail , food production, and the non-profit sector, Alan has successfully led multimillion-euro programmes across system upgrades, O365/Exchange migrations, cloud adoption, application development, large-scale hardware rollouts, and custom voice application for Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home. He combines hands-on technical ability with excellent stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment of IT delivery with organisational strategy.

Alan has managed vendors and third-party providers in highly regulated environments, building trusted partnerships and ensuring SLAs and KPIs are consistently met. He has demonstrated strong leadership in risk management, governance, and change management, while mentoring junior project managers and guiding diverse cross-functional teams.

Key Achievements:

  • Led projects for IBM/EirGrid, including SharePoint Online migration (€1.5m), Intune MDM rollout (€300k+), Exchange Online migration, and Citrix Cloud adoption.
  • Delivered the myNCBI Smart Hub project (Alexa/Google integration), Developed for Vision Ireland (formally National Council for the Blind of Ireland), designed to help people with sight loss access information and services via voice commands on their smart speaker.
  • Managed a Windows 10 migration for Permanent TSB, overseeing deployment across 80+ sites.
  • Oversaw core server upgrades and O365 migration pilots at Bank of Ireland and New Ireland Assurance, coordinating with IBM and vendor teams.
  • Directed an IT transformation programme for Hickeys Pharmacies, including Dynamics 365 implementation, Point of Sale and Pharmacy PC refresh across 33 outlets and back office locations, and the onboarding of managed service providers.
  • As IT Infrastructure Manager at Chill Insurance, implemented disaster recovery strategy, PCI DSS compliance initiatives, and new infrastructure for strategic businesses (Chill Money, Ivernia Insurance).
