I recently took part in a workshop hosted by Bernard Geraghty . Bernard is a fantastic guide, will take you to the best spots, some of which will not always be expected, and knows the places for lunch and coffee about.
We based ourselves in the fantastic Talbot Hotel, kicking off with lunch before heading out to St Patricks Head in Mayo for a few hours. the following morning we headed off to Black Sod Lighthouse only for the weather to worsen with the forecast for a complete washout for the day. not wanting to waste the day we packed the van and headed off to Connemara for a fantastic day in Delphi, Gowla and Dooroy.
